Stoffer Aiming to Duplicate
Qualifying Success on Sunday
After two NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle events this season, Karen
Stoffer has qualified her Geico-Suzuki in the top half of the
field twice. In Gainesville Stoffer qualified eighth with a 7.03
and at the O'Reilly Spring Nationals from Houston, TX, Stoffer
was again the second quickest Suzuki in qualifying with an impressive
run of 6.98 to qualify fifth.
"Even though we have done well in the past in the underdog
role, we always make qualifying in the top half of the field a
major priority on this team," Stoffer said. "The competition
is very tough and it is very important for us to start the weekend
with four strong qualifying runs. So far this season everyone
on the team has done a great job in that area."
In the opening round of eliminations Stoffer was upset by veteran
Steve Johnson after Stoffer fouled-out by a mere -.016.
Despite the defeat Stoffer remains upbeat and optimistic heading
into the tour's next event, The Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern
Nationals from Atlanta, Ga, April 24th-27th.
"We have showed great potential at the first two races this
season," Stoffer said. "We are really focused on bringing
it all together in Atlanta."
Stoffer will enter the Atlanta race ranked No. 10 in the point
series with 67.
Stoffer went on to extend special
thanks to all of the 2008 sponsors and supporters.
