Successful test session energizes Stoffer for Englishtown
By: Jack Korpela

Fueled by a solid outing in Chicago last weekend and a favorable test session earlier this week, GEICO-backed NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Karen Stoffer optimistically approaches this weekend’s NHRA K&N Filters Super Nationals from Old Bridge Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ.

“Our goal coming into this season was to do a lot of testing,” said Stoffer, who is currently ranked sixth in the POWERade point series. “It has really improved our program and we learned a great deal during our most recent test session.”

Stoffer has been cutting razor sharp reaction times as of late, including a .009 in eliminations last weekend.

“It amazes me just how tough the competition is out here,” Stoffer said. “I have to be on my game each and every time I go to the starting line. At this point in the season I’m feeling pretty comfortable on the bike.”

Stoffer points to making four quality qualifying runs as the key to success this weekend.
“Last week one of the sessions was eliminated because of rain and we had a problem with wax on the seat for another one, so we really only got two good passes in,” Stoffer said. “It’s all about making your best run in the best session. We are poised and ready to do that this weekend.”

Stoffer is no stranger to success at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. She finished runner-up at the facility one season ago.
