Stoffer looking to keep up momentum
By: Jack Korpela
After climbing to fourth in the POWERade point series, GEICO-backed
NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Karen Stoffer is hoping
to continue her hot streak at this weekend’s O’Reilly
NHRA Midwest Nationals from Madison, Ill.
“Last weekend was amazing,” Stoffer said of her final
round appearance. “The team is performing very consistently
and if we can continue that over the next few races we will have
a chance to challenge for the points lead.”
Heading into this weekend’s race Stoffer sits in the No.
4 spot in the POWERade point series, just 105 behind leader Angelle
Sampey.
This weekend’s race will cap a grueling third consecutive
week of competition for the Pro Stock Motorcycle class. Stoffer
says the back-to-back races don’t bother her in the least.
“I’m used to it form all of my years of bracket racing,”
Stoffer said. “I like it because it gives us a chance to
get on a roll.”
