Stoffer Aiming to Solidify
Playoff Spot
NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship contender Karen Stoffer
and her Geico-backed team are hoping to earn more valuable PowerAde
points at this weekend's Lucas Oil Nationals from Brainerd, Minn.
Stoffer is currently ranked fourth in the NHRA championship standings
with just two more events to go before only the top eight advance
to the next level of countdown.
"We got off to a great start this season," said Stoffer,
who won two of the first three NHRA events. "Now we really
need to focus and finish strong. We want to put in a great performance
this weekend to guarantee us our spot in the countdown."
Stoffer is well aware of what the team must do to succeed in Minnesota.
"We have to figure out the best set-up for the motorcycle
as quickly as possible.
It all comes down to me making the absolute cleanest passes I
can make to help Gary make the tuning calls," Stoffer said.
"The quicker we can find out what set-up the track needs
the better."
Stoffer will be in search of her sixth career event victory.
"We know we've got the power
to go out and win, we just need to put it all together in one
package," Stoffer said.
Stoffer went on to extend
special thanks to all of the 2007 sponsors and supporters.
